Designer I / Technical Designer I
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Hybrid
We are seeking a talented and motivated Designer 1 to join our collaborative architecture and design team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or emerging designer with 1–3 years of professional experience who is eager to contribute to projects from concept through construction and continue developing their design and technical skills.
The ideal candidate is curious, creative, detail-oriented, and excited to work collaboratively across all phases of project delivery. You will have the opportunity to contribute to design presentations, documentation, material selections, and client and consultant coordination while learning from experienced project leaders and contributing to a dynamic studio environment.

Develop creative and thoughtful design solutions from concept through completion.
Assist with space planning, design presentations, 3D modeling, and renderings.
Develop and coordinate FF&E, finishes, materials, lighting, and color palettes.
Prepare accurate construction documents, specifications, and schedules.
Collaborate with project leadership, clients, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Take ownership of assigned tasks while maintaining quality and consistency with project and studio standards.
Assist with materials library organization, material appointments, and sample management.
Contribute to studio initiatives, team activities, and professional learning opportunities.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Recent graduate to approximately 1–3 years of post-graduate professional experience in an architecture or interior design practice.
Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
Strong graphic, visualization, modeling, and documentation skills.
Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with project leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
Curious and creative approach to design, with a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
Flexible, open-minded, and enthusiastic about growing professionally.
