Fatback Butcher
Imagine wandering off Wacker Drive in downtown Chicago and suddenly finding yourself in what looks like your local butcher shop in 1920's Paris. That was the vision Charlie McKenna brought to us when the concept for Fatback Butcher began taking shape. Working hand in hand with Charlie and the Fifty/50 Group, the team created a nuanced space inspired by the urban fabric of Paris, vintage French motifs, and butchery itself. Muralists, specialty fabricators, and antique dealers were brought on to create a space rich in detail, making it feel welcoming and genuine.
The design concept paired playful pastel tones with floral patterns to create a warm, feminine feel that balances the brutal carnage of butchery. Think vintage Laduree, but with meat! Project led by Jaime Magaliff, with geniant + Eastlake Studio serving as architect of record.
